I have a total of 11.5 years of work experience and have completed my Masters in Guidance and Counseling from James Cook University – Singapore with my practicum at Wings Counseling Centre. As a trainee counsellor at Wings, my role spanned over defining client goals, conducting intake assessments, conceptualising and preparing treatment plans and maintaining timely, detailed and confidential records. I served my clients effectively by building a trusting therapeutic relationship and providing safe, confidential and empathic environment. This training gave me a perfect opportunity to hone my counselling skills and be able to assist my clients in overcoming both short and long term mental health issues. I have a proven record of positive therapy outcomes while working on cases starting from intake to closure.
Additionally, I have completed Graduate Certificate in Psychotherapeutic Approaches (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Specialisation, APACS accredited) from ‘The Lion Mind’, Singapore. This certification has given me evidence based CBT tools and techniques that support my treatment plans. My Bachelor’s degree in Psychology enables me to integrate knowledge of scientific and psychological processes with counseling interventions and therapeutic practice. Along with these qualifications, I continue to develop myself professionally through additional courses that inform my practice.
I take an integrative approach and bring in tools and techniques from CBT, Solution Focussed, Person Centred and other therapies to tailor my treatment plan to the client’s needs. I focus on helping clients make positive and sustainable changes in their lives and address issues such as anxiety, depression, loss, grief, trauma, relationship issues, interpersonal issues, work related issues, lifestyle changes or dysfunctional behavioural patterns.
I believe each client is unique and comes with different perspectives, values, beliefs, issues, capabilities, and strengths. I work together with them to get to the heart of their challenges by processing their thoughts, emotions and events and creating a psycho-therapeutical counselling plan. I believe in empowering the clients by tapping on their strengths and developing healthy coping strategies to heal, grow and achieve their therapy goals.
